We are Ditawana Scout Troop, a registered Scout Troop of the Botswana Scouts Association & affiliated with Future Explorers Youth Society.

A youth-led movement committed to helping young people develop into responsible citizens through adventure, leadership, community service, environmental stewardship, and lifelong learning.

At Ditawana Scout Troop, Scouting is more than camping. It is a journey of personal growth. Through practical experiences, teamwork, and outdoor education, we equip young people with the confidence, skills, and values needed to make a positive impact in their communities.

Whether exploring the bush around Maun, taking part in community clean-up projects, planting trees, learning lifesaving skills, or sharing stories around a campfire, every activity helps shape tomorrow's leaders.

Based in Maun, Botswana, Ditawana Scout Troop provides young people in Maun and surrounding communities with opportunities to join Scouting. Through partnerships with local schools, we work alongside educators to make Scouting more accessible by engaging learners and creating clear pathways into the movement.

Principles of the Scout Movement

The Scouts Movement is based on the following principles.

1. Duty to God

Adherence to spiritual principles, loyalty to the religion that expresses them; and acceptance of the duties resulting there from.

2. Duty to Others

Loyalty to one’s country in harmony with the promotion of local, national and international peace, understanding and cooperation; participation in the development of society with recognition; and respect for the dignity of one’s fellow human beings and for the integrity of the natural world.

3. Duty to Self

Responsibility for development of oneself
